I started with Zero, to date, I have made click here--.
Before I started this I thought long and hard about starting with $100.00, just to avoid playing micro limit and freeroll tournaments, it just seemed to be too big of a nightmare. A 100% of my success is because of the amazing amounts of discipline and patience, and following the bankroll management out lined in Chris Ferguson's article. Sometimes, I played higher (outside of my bankroll), but never to high, and never that often. The reason I did this is because of the availability of tournament limits and the time I was available to play. For example, instead of playing a one dollar buy-in, I played a 3-5 dollar buy-in. In the end, I think the worst part of the experiment was playing the micro limits; it was frustrating and at some points seemed very pointless. I had the $100.00 to fund my account to try to bypass some of the free players, or rather, the kamikaze player, this was the hardest part, but I think it has made me a better poker player. However, cashes of .11 cents seems small, but when you have nothing, you have nothing to lose, and the battle with my bankroll from under one dollar where going broke means failure, this was a real challenge. It will be interesting to see how far I will go!
One of the things that has improved more than anything is, when playing poker I am less emotional with my play. Because there is no chance of me going broke, also over betting my bankroll is the worst thing I can do, even if I am a winning player, I will lose.
Is over betting your bankroll killing you?
